Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOAOur ActivitiesHere at the Sugarloaf KOA, our recreation team has discovered the cure for spring fever: planning summer camping getaways! It's actually part of our job to create a fun experience for our campers-a task we don't take lightly. When you arrive, check out the bulletin board in the recreation outpost/office for our KOA activities. KOA Campfire TimeWhen the sun goes down, campfire time begins. Gather around the fire pit and get acquainted with fellow campers. Campfire time promises all the classics: toasting marshmallows, eating s'mores, belting out camp tunes during sing-a-longs. We've even been known to swap a scary story or two! Interactive Dog ParkAt KOA, we strive to offer something for every member of your family. Which is why we're pleased to announce our new interactive dog park! Lose the leash and let your dog run wild across manicured lawns, free within our fenced play land designed exclusively for canines. Floating Water TrampolinePaddle out to our inflatable water trampoline in our swimming area for a playful water adventure. Or swim out to one of our floating pads for sunbathing and relaxation. Try to master the slippery slope on the floating "Rock." Swimmers clamber up the "rock face" on one side and slide down into the water on the other. Tie-Dyed T-ShirtsBring a piece of your trip home with you: make a t-shirt during craft hour. Your tie-dyed t-shirt will be a wearable memento from your vacation. With a demonstration and all supplies provided, this retro activity satisfies campers of all ages. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to tie-dye! Top Your Own SundaeI scream, you scream, we all scream for sundaes! We serve up your favorite toppings such as chocolate syrup and whipped cream, and a chance to mingle with your fellow campers. Full Service MarinaAt our full service marina, we offer five different vessels to enjoy on the water. The kids will want to grab a paddle and cut the water in one of our canoes or tandem sea kayaks. The whole family will enjoy scooting around in one of our pontoons or fishing boats, available for full- or half-day rental. All of our equipment is Coast Guard-inspected and approved. Each rental includes a brief tutorial, life jacket, and other safety precautions. We recommend reserving your rental when you reserve your campsite. Banana Bike RentalsWhile a lot of people think of banana bikes as a "kid's thing," many a parent has been inclined to take a turn on this three-wheeling recumbent sensation. Low to the ground and easy to maneuver, banana bikes provide a novel form of campground transportation. Rentals are available hourly with discounts for multiple hours. Fishing and SnorkelingIn our marina, you'll find everything you need for a successful fishing trip. In addition to daily pole rental and bait for sale, we stock rods, reels, lines, hooks - even coolers and beer. If you haven't got your fishing license yet, we can even help you get set up with that so you can enjoy your own fresh catch for dinner. We also offer daily snorkeling equipment rental. ECO ToursPersonalized tours of the Florida Keys departing from the marina. Spend 2 - 3 hours on the water learning more about the area from the campground's own captain.
